German technology website Igor’sLAB has published suspicious specifications for AMD’s Threadripper PRO 5000 CPUs. The chips are based on Zen 3 architecture and are available from 12 to 64 cores. It is assumed that the CPUs will be announced during CES.
According to the specification list from Igor’sLAB AMD will come out with five different Threadripper PRO 5000 processors, as expected. CPUs are available in various variants with 12, 16, 24, 32 and 64 cores. All of these processors have a TDP of 280W and support official DDR4-3200 memory.

Igor’sLAB does not write the number of PCIe lanes and memory channels that the CPUs have. Presumably, it’s about eight DDR4 memory channels and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, just like current Threadripper PRO models. Because the Zen 3 architecture is used, Threadripper PRO 5000 will not offer DDR5 or PCIe 5.0 support. AMD is adding these technologies to Zen 4. This architecture is scheduled to be designed in 2022 and will be used for the first time in de EPYC Genoa-cpu’s For servers and data centers.
The Threadripper PRO 5995WX will be the top model out there. This model will have 64 Zen 3 cores with 128 threads and 256MB of L4 cache. Low-position models, as well as fewer cores, get less cache. The maximum turbo frequency for all models is 4.55GHz. Core clocks vary, with a lower core clock counting higher.
AMD hasn’t officially announced its Zen 3-based Threadripper chips yet. That should happen soon; The company will hold a keynote with new product announcements at CES on January 4. According to previous rumours AMD Threadripper PRO 5000 CPUs will be released on March 8, 2022.
